The 'Severed Garden' project starts in the early 2005, with only three members of the actual line-up, Giorgio Manca (Guitar and Backing Vocals), Danilo D'Onofrio (Bass Guitar) and Manuel Cernéro (Drumkit), which leads them to play tracks by bands like 'Jimi Hendrix Experience', 'Rush', etc.
In the next two years Ivan Di Sipio (Keyboards and Backing Vocals) and Joele Turchi (Lead Vocals and Rythm Guitar) join the band, reaching the actual line-up.
After another year spent playing Classic Rock like 'Led Zeppelin', 'Deep Purple', 'Toto', etc., the band's influences turn to Progressive music, from the '70s Classic one (Genesis, PFM, Pink Floyd, etc.) to the Modern one (Dream Theater above all).
In the next period, as well as extending live repertory with tracks by 'Porcupine Tree' and 'Pain Of Salvation', the band starts composing inedited songs.
The first track is 'Years Of Pain' (after renamed 'Years Of Rain').
The second one is 'The Invisible Box', which deals the agony of a guy who tries to escape from the drugs' world.
With the third song, called 'Close Distances', the band compose its first 'ballad' which, despite the stylistic imprint, is the longest one.
Then follows 'The Last Cold Winter', by far the track for which the band spent more energy to looking for a finest sound and an abstract essay (the bidirectional love/hate relationship between Nature and Mankind).
Finally 'Hide', oriented toward softer sounds, is conceived as an entirely acoustic ballad.
All the tracks form the first EP, called Perspectives.
Currently the band is writing its sixth composition, The 13th Month.

Il progetto Severed Garden prende vita nell'ormai piuttosto lontano 2005, con formazione che comprende soltanto tre degli attuali membri, ovvero Giorgio Manca (Chitarra e Backing Vocals), Danilo D'Onofrio (Basso) e Manuel Cernéro (Batteria), che li porta ad un repertorio orientato verso l'esecuzione di brani di gruppi aventi lo stesso numero di componenti (Jimi Hendrix Experience, Rush, etc.).
Nei successivi due anni prendono parte al progetto Ivan Di Sipio (Tastiere e Backing Vocals) e Joele Turchi (Voce e Chitarra Ritmica), con i quali il gruppo raggiunge l'attuale line-up.
Dopo un ulteriore anno speso nell'esecuzione di mero rock (Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Toto, etc.) le influenze del gruppo cambiano, orientandosi verso uno stampo Progressive, che spazia da quello storico e classico degli anni '70 (Genesis, PFM, Pink Floyd, etc.), a quello più moderno e tendente al Metal (Dream Theater su tutti).
Nel periodo successivo, oltre ad ampliare ulteriormente il proprio repertorio live con brani di band come Porcupine Tree e Pain Of Salvation, il gruppo inizia la composizione di brani inediti.
Primo esperimento della band è Years Of Pain (successivamente rinominato Years Of Rain).
Il secondo brano composto e arrangiato è The Invisible Box, la cui tematica riguarda la sconvolgente esperienza di un ragazzo che, entrato nel mondo delle sostanze stupefacenti, tenta di uscirne.
Con il terzo brano, Close Distances, il gruppo compone la sua prima 'ballad', che, nonostante la connotazione stilistca, risulta il brano più lungo dell'intero repertorio inedito.
Segue poi The Last Cold Winter, in assoluto il brano in cui la band ha speso più tempo ed energie, votate al raggiungimento di un sound più ricercato e nell'approfondimento di una tematica più particolareggiata e astratta (il rapporto di amore/odio tra la Natura ed il Genere Umano).
Hide, più tesa verso sonorità più morbide, viene concepita come una ballata interamente acustica.
I cinque brani, assieme, vanno a formare l'EP del gruppo, chiamato Perspectives.
Attualmente, la band è alla prese con la composizione del sesto brano, The 13th Month.
